Join the Detroit Zoological Society and co-chairs Joseph Campanelli and Karen Cullen for our spectacular, annual 21-and-older fundraising gala Sunset at the Zoo “Penguin Palooza” presented by Strategic Staffing Solutions on Friday, June 10, 2016.

Sunset will provide a sensational evening complete with exquisite cuisine, delectable drinks, magnificent live entertainment, dancing under the stars and “zoonique” prizes.   With more than 40 of metro Detroit’s best restaurants, 2,000 Detroit Zoo supporters and exclusive access to many of our award-winning animal habitats, you and your guests will experience a fun-filled evening unlike any other!

This year’s event will celebrate the newly opened Polk Penguin Conservation Center. The $30-million facility represents the largest and most spectacular project the Detroit Zoological Society has ever undertaken. One of the most dramatic features is a chilled 326,000-gallon, 25-foot-deep aquatic area that allows visitors to watch as penguins explore their habitat and dive to depths of up to 25 feet – something that is otherwise impossible to see, even in the wild. Two acrylic underwater tunnels provide guests with views above and below water as the birds dive and soar.

Guests are encouraged to dress in black and white in celebration of penguins and the Polk Penguin Conservation Center. This grand celebration promises to be the coolest ticket in town! Join us for a fun-filled evening unlike any other!

Sunset at the Zoo is more than just a great party – it raises critical funds to support the Detroit Zoological Society and our mission of Celebrating and Saving Wildlife.
